Katharine Briggs, PHD
Research Associate at University of Maryland
Katharine Briggs is a research associate in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in the lab of Prof. Bruce Yu where she is exploring time-domain NMR parameters for use in the pharmaceutical industry. Her research measures drug products, such as insulin pens and vaccines, using the water proton NMR signal to non-invasively detect product changes. Before coming to the School of Pharmacy, she studied lithium binding to small molecules using high-field NMR, to elucidate the mode of lithium binding, and earned her Ph.D. in biological sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park.
