Director, Internal Audit at Genmab
Michael Briganti is the Director of Internal Audit for Genmab, an international biotech specializing in creation and development of antibody therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. Prior to Genmab, he was a Director of International Risk Management for Bristol Myers Squibb, and a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young’s Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services practice. He also led internal audit functions for a medical device manufacturer and consumer products wholesaler. Michael is a Certified Public Accountant, Attorney, and a Certified Fraud Examiner. He holds a bachelors and master’s degrees in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a juris doctorate from the Seton Hall University School of Law. In his 20+ year career, Michael has: Established new internal audit departments focused on compliance, financial, operational, and anti-fraud risk management. Evolved organizations’ enterprise risk management assessment programs from focused on SOX compliance, to more comprehensive business process, operational, and anti-fraud considerations. Designed organizations’ anti-bribery, corruption, and fraud risk monitoring analytics. Implemented third-party risk management and monitoring programs. Lead forensic engagements involving financial statement fraud for public Companies, including reporting to the Company’s Audit Committee, outside counsel, and the SEC. Designed and implemented comprehensive Sarbanes-Oxley compliance programs. Michael is married with two children. In his spare time, he is an avid golfer and volunteers with a charity that is dedicated to helping children with autism communicate using technology, with the end goal of adult employment.
