He is responsible for BlackRock's Transition Investing franchise, with a focus on private markets, where he manages sourcing from corporates, capital formation, product strategy and thought leadership. Dickon is a former senior partner at McKinsey & Co. where he was the global leader of McKinsey Sustainability from 2017-2022, and co-founded McKinsey's Cleantech Practice in 2008. Dickon advised CEOs across industries on how to manage the risks and opportunities presented by climate change and the energy transition, with a focus on growth, and led the acquisition of Vivid Economics. He is widely published, and a recognized global thought leader on the energy transition.Dickon received a PhD in Physics from Cambridge University in 2000, an MSc in Physics from Berkeley University in 1994, where he was a Fulbright Scholar, and a First Class Honors Degree from Cambridge University in Natural Sciences in 1992. Prior to joining McKinsey, Dickon worked as a Reservoir Engineer for Shell International.

In the Deputy Head role, Brent will help drive Alternative's strategic priorities including overall strategy, product offerings and talent integration and management. BlackRock Capital Markets includes Liquid Capital Markets and Syndicate, Private Sourcing and Origination, Alternatives Financing, Alternatives Co-Investing and Corporate Solutions. Brent is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of BCM globally. BCM serves the entirety of the firm's investment platform including the Portfolio Management Group, the Alternatives Group and BlackRock's Index Funds. By spanning all public and private pools of capital, BCM provides our investors the ability to maximize deal flow and unlock greater alpha opportunities for the benefit of our clients. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2017, Brent spent over two decades leading, managing and growing alternative asset origination and financing businesses. He is accomplished in financial sponsor and corporate account coverage in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia. Most recently, Brent spent 19 years at Credit Suisse, where he held a number of management roles including Head of Leveraged Finance Capital Markets, Head of High Yield Capital Markets and Managing Director of the Financial Sponsors Coverage Group. In many of these roles, Brent's had senior responsibility originating and underwriting a broad range of transactions across the capital structure including loans, high yield, mezzanine, bridge loans and equities. At Credit Suisse, Brent was the Chair of the US Capital Commitments Committee and a member of the Credit Executive, Fixed Income Operating and Corporate banking Oversight Committees. Brent's earlier career included various investment banking and M&A roles in Toronto, Calgary, Hong Kong and New York at ScotiaMcLeod and RBC Dominion Securities. Brent earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) and Bachelor of Arts from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and is a CFA. Brent serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Global Lyme Alliance.
