Bronwyn Barry RA, CPHD
Ms. Barry is a registered architect based in San Francisco, CA. She was educated in South Africa, the UK and the USA and holds a BA from the University of Natal-KwaZulu. Bronwyn organized and directed California’s first all-women construction crew for Habitat for Humanity before co-founding both Passive House California (PHCA) and the Passive House Network (formerly known as the NAPHN), where she served for a decade as founding Board Chair. Her policy and advocacy work extends internationally. She contributed to the UNECE’s Coalition on Building's global standard for high performance buildings. Ms. Barry has participated as a subject matter expert on a number of research projects led by Lawrence Berkeley National Labs (LBNL). She worked with California’s Codes and Standards team on exploring a Multifamily Passive House Reach Code. She now directs PHN's policy support programing and serves as a Senior Policy Fellow for the New Buildings Institute (NBI).
