- Thomas YorkPartner at Jones DayTom York is a seasoned antitrust lawyer, focusing on antitrust litigation, merger review, and civil and criminal antitrust investigations. He has experience before the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, state attorneys general, and international antitrust enforcers. Tom also regularly counsels on antitrust issues, such as competitor collaborations, distribution, licensing, pricing, and single-firm conduct. Tom works across a range of industries, including aviation, consumer products, emerging technology, health care, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, and sports. Representative clients include American Airlines, Chevron, Conagra Brands, General Electric, Procter & Gamble, and Texas Instruments. Tom currently serves in leadership positions in the American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law, the State Bar of Texas Antitrust & Business Litigation Section, and the Dallas Bar Association Antitrust & Trade Regulation Section. He previously served as co-chair of the Antitrust Law Committee of the ABA's Young Lawyer Division. Tom has written extensively for these and other organizations, including as a contributing author to several ABA books and as a publishing author in Antitrust Magazine, The Antitrust Source, and others. He regularly presents on antitrust compliance, merger strategy, antitrust litigation, and similar topics. Tom maintains an active pro bono practice. Recent examples include successfully challenging the constitutionality of two sentences of life without parole imposed on a minor and pursuing consumer protection litigation on behalf of active duty members of the military. He previously worked for four years in Jones Day's Washington Office.
- Robert FriedmanSenior Counsel, Antitrust at ExxonMobil CorporationRob is an antitrust attorney with both private and government experience. He spent approximately 15 years at the Federal Trade Commission, in the Mergers III division, where he investigated both mergers and acquisitions and alleged anticompetitive conduct in the oil and gas industry. He left the FTC in 2014 to join ExxonMobil as an antitrust counsel to ExxonMobil’s downstream business. A few years later, Rob’s role grew to also support ExxonMobil’s remaining business lines, including the upstream, chemicals, and low carbon businesses. Rob has been active in the ABA’s antitrust section and has spoken at numerous antitrust-related conferences, including on prior Antitrust Texas panels.
- Michael DaileySenior Vice President and General Counsel at Air LiquideMichael Dailey is Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Airgas, Inc., an Air Liquide company, a leading U.S. supplier of industrial gases, safety products and process chemicals. In that role, Michael and his team are responsible for advising in connection with commercial transactions, corporate governance, compliance matters, strategic transactions, crisis management, regulatory matters, and dispute resolution. In Michael’s previous roles at Air Liquide, he served as the Vice President and General Counsel of Air Liquide USA LLC and General Counsel of Air Liquide’s Engineering and Construction business activity in the Americas. Prior to joining Air Liquide, Michael worked in the Legal department at BP, advising its Global Projects Organization on major projects (projects > $250 million) in the Gulf of Mexico. Prior to BP, Michael worked in the Energy and Infrastructure Projects practice area for Skadden Arps Slate Meagher and Flom LLP in Houston. He also worked in Project Controls for Honeywell before and during his time in law school. Michael holds a BS in Construction Science from Texas A&M University in College Station and a JD from the University of Houston Law Center.
- Ryan BardoGeneral Counsel at TF Warren GroupRyan Bardo serves as General Counsel for the T.F. Warren Group, an industrial construction and services conglomerate headquartered in Spring, Texas with facilities in the US and Canada that provide services throughout the Americas. Ryan began his legal career as a commercial litigator before moving in-house, where he has previously worked in the oil & gas, mining, and industrial gas sectors. Ryan is an Army and Iraq War veteran and a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and the University of Houston Law Center.
