Miranda Cole is an antitrust and competition lawyer based in Brussels. She has a broad competition practice focused on the technology and life sciences sectors.

With more than 20 years' experience, Miranda is regarded as a key adviser to life sciences and technology companies globally.

Miranda has extensive experience advising clients to address increasing regulatory scrutiny from governments and competition authorities. She advises on merger control, actions under Articles 101 and 102 TFEU, abuse of dominance, anticompetitive agreements, and compliance and advisory work, as well as actions before the European courts in Luxembourg.

Miranda is also heavily involved in supporting clients in aligning their competition policy engagement in response to a variety of new regulatory frameworks.

Prior to joining the firm, Miranda was a senior partner in a multinational law firm in Brussels

Aastha has nearly a decade of experience in advising clients on a breadth of economics issues related to competition, litigation, regulation, and public policy. In this time, she has worked closely with multinationals and SMEs, as well as regulators and governments, across multiple jurisdictions, including Europe, India, UK, and the US.

She has been involved in some of the most prominent economics cases, including: advising the parties on the Tobii/Smartbox merger review by the CMA and the appeal to the CAT; providing economics expert advice to support a class certification application in the transport sector; supporting several water companies and Heathrow Airport through their regulated price controls; and developing evidence for the Department for International Trade (DIT) to support trade negotiations post-Brexit.

Filomena Chirico leads the Unit in DG Connect in charge of the implementation of the Digital Markets Act within the Platforms Directorate. After a Master’s Degree in law, a PhD in institutional economics and a post-doc in Law and economics, she joined the European Commission, first in DG competition, then the Secretariat General and DG Research. Until end of 2022, she was Expert member of Cabinet of Commissioner Breton, with responsibility for the preparation and negotiations of both the Digital Services and the Digital Markets Act.
