  • Anne Fossemalle
    Anne Fossemalle
    Director at European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
    Anne Fossemalle has been the Director in charge of Funds’ investments at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) since 2009. She has over 25 years of private equity experience and holds numerous LPAC seats with major fund managers within the EBRD’s countries of operations. Anne also represents EBRD and its countries of operations in major industry bodies: as Member of the Board of Directors and Past Chair of Invest Europe, the European private equity association and the world’s largest association of capital providers; as former Member of the Board of Directors of the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA), the global association for institutional investors; and as CEE & CIS Council Chair Director for the Global Private Capital Association (GPCA), formerly EMPEA. Anne joined the EBRD in 1993 from Natixis in Paris, and has worked in a number of capacities prior to heading the Funds’ investment team, notably leading EBRD’s debt and direct equity investments into financial institutions. Anne holds Masters degrees from Stanford University, Ecole Nationale du Génie Rural, des Eaux et des Forêts (France) and Institut National Agronomique Paris-Grignon (France). She was selected as one of ten Women of Influence in Private Equity by Private Equity International in 2022.

    Sarita is a highly skilled Sustainable Investment professional and is viewed as a pioneer in this field by her peers. For the past 28 years, she has been relied upon to develop and implement integrated investment, ESG and impact strategies, policies, and frameworks for Development Finance Institutions, asset managers and owners, financial institutions, corporations, and companies. Sarita has led or participated in the assessment of several thousand listed and un-listed companies and more than 200 private equity funds. Leveraging her strong investment background, in-depth knowledge of ESG and Impact, as well as her experience in working in multi-cultural contexts, Sarita is uniquely qualified to capitalize on the intersectionality between ESG risk management and impact in investment decision-making processes and portfolio management. She has extensive board, advisory committee, and taskforce experience, and she is an accomplished speaker and university lecturer. Sarita is currently a Senior Portfolio Manager in Finnfund’s Fund Investments Team, where she has both origination and portfolio management responsibilities.

    Ashish has been involved with growth companies for over 20 years and has strategic, operational and investment experience. Before joining Aavishkaar Capital to lead Africa, he was the Managing Director for Sub-Sahara Africa at Abraaj, based in Nairobi. Prior to that, he headed Strategy, Emerging Markets and Corporate Development at AVG Technologies where he also severed as a Board Member until 2010 before which he was the Managing Director for Intel Capital in Europe where he invested and exited from some of the leading European success stories including Yandex, Suse, AVG and also was responsible for a number of Intel’s European acquisitions and integrations. Over the last decade, Ashish has invested in over 40 young businesses in Europe, Africa, Asia and US with direct responsibility of over $1.2bn of investment portfolio. Ashish qualified as an ACA with PWC, London where he was a member of the Corporate Finance Advisory practice mainly for large cap international businesses. Ashish graduated in Economics from London School of Economics and Political Science in London.
