  • Peter S.H. Grubstein
    Peter S.H. Grubstein
    Founder and Managing Partner at NGEN
    Mr. Peter Grubstein has deep operating and investing experience in manufacturing and distribution businesses and in the environmental sectors. Mr. Grubstein has invested in sustainable businesses with innovative solutions to impact the world’s biggest problems. As the founder and Managing Member of N*GEN in 2001, Peter was one of the earliest venture capitalists in the ESG sector. N*GEN is a growth equity investment firm focusing on healthy living which has raised over $500 million in three funds. Mr. Grubstein has extensive experience as an entrepreneur and operating executive, having served for a number of years as COO and then CEO of a family manufacturing business. Mr. Grubstein is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Enzymedica, and has been on the board of most of his investments. Mr. Grubstein graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts.

    Paul Barker is a partner in the Bay Area office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and a member of the Firm’s ESG & Impact Practice Group. Paul has a particular focus on climate change/energy transition law and policy, which intersects regulatory, transactional, and litigation practice. Paul counsels private equity and credit sponsors in the U.S. and worldwide on a range of matters under domestic and international law, including: carbon markets and emissions trading; climate/transition fund formation and investments; disclosure and greenwashing litigation/enforcement; and sustainable finance. Complementing this work, Paul is an adjunct lecturer at Columbia University in New York, where he teaches a class on business and climate change.

    Heather McGeory is the Head of Sustainability at Fifth Wall, where she focuses on ESG and decarbonization strategies across Fifth Wall's funds. Prior to joining Fifth Wall, Heather was the Global Practice Lead on Climate at APCO, a public affairs consultancy and the Chief Operating Officer & Co-Founder of the We Mean Business Coalition. She also has advised a number of climate startups on voluntary carbon markets, electric vehicle infrastructure, and net-zero building materials. She started her career at the NASA/Goddard Institute for Space Studies working on atmospheric carbon and its effect on agricultural crops and food security. Heather was born and currently resides in New York. She graduated from Barnard College with a Bachelor of Arts in religion and Columbia University with a Masters of International Affairs.

EIP brings together forward-thinking industrials and climate innovators to help decarbonize the global economy. Sameer has over 15 years of experience in industrial and climate technology. He joined EIP in 2015 and has since led the firm’s investments across cybersecurity and distributed energy. His investments at EIP include Arcadia, Attivo, Dragos, Enchanted Rock, Finite State, Mosaic, Opus One, Particle, Powin, RapidSOS, Swimlane, Trifacta and Urbint. Prior to EIP, Sameer spent five years at Evercore in the firm’s Power and Renewable Energy Group where he advised clients on over $15bn of M&A transactions. Prior to Evercore, Sameer spent three years at GE Capital’s energy venture capital group focusing on industrial and clean tech investing. Sameer has a dual degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Florida and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.
