Description

The real estate sector is a major contributor to biodiversity loss. By integrating biodiversity into ESG strategy, commercial real estate companies can help reverse nature loss while also sequestering carbon, mitigating climate and natural-capital risks, enhancing resilience, and improving community wellbeing.

During the session, we will provide an overview of biodiversity, the business case for integrating biodiversity into ESG strategy, and areas of opportunity for incorporating nature-based solutions. We will also explore the benefits of native plant landscaping, as well as nature-based landscaping practices, companies can implement today to support biodiversity and make a tangible impact. While the information presented will be through a commercial real estate lens, the industry updates, frameworks and regulations, and principles shared will be applicable to a variety of industries.

The session will be presented by Verdani Partners Associate ESG Manager Maren Bender, ESG Coordinator Vanessa Vlasak, Senior ESG & Biodiversity Manager Kristen Wernick, and Senior ESG Manager Julie Jacobson.
