Carlie Bullock-JonesCarlie Bullock-JonesFounder and Principal at Ecoworks Studio

Carlie Bullock-Jones is the founder and managing Principal of Ecoworks Studio and has dedicated her entire career to bringing about a greener, healthier built environment. As a nationally known expert in sustainability, and with a passion for sports and sustainability, Carlie has spearheaded certification efforts for several stadiums, arenas, and training facilities for the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLS, MLB, and collegiate athletic projects. As a LEED Faculty mentor for USGBC, and the first WELL Faculty IWBI, Carlie is a highly sought-after speaker and writer for national events and publications. She has been extensively involved in the development of LEED standards over the years, serving as a Subject Matter Expert for USGBC and GBCI, assisting in course curriculum, exam development and reference guide creation. In 2012, Carlie was inducted by USGBC as a LEED Fellow, one of only 77 in the world at that time.

Rhiannon Jacobsen is the Managing Director of U.S. Market Transformation & Development at the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). In this role, Rhiannon leads a nationwide team focused upon realizing the organization’s mission to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life. She directs and engages USGBC’s U.S. market transformation and development through local communities, members, volunteers, clients, thought leaders, and stakeholders. A fifteen+-year veteran of USGBC, Rhiannon’s accomplishments and contributions are varied.x000D One of Rhiannon’s areas of specialization includes the philanthropic engagement of corporations and foundation. Through this work she has raised more than $10 million in charitable funds for the Council. Her career started with USGBC as a member of the leadership team for the award-winning Greenbuild International Conference & Expo.

Lora Urbaniak is the Operations Manager of the Sustainable Buildings and Operations group at Sustainable Solutions Corporation (SSC). Lora leads her team in helping clients across a range of industries to develop and achieve their sustainability targets. From extensive experience in services such as decarbonization master planning, energy efficient design, and waste diversion and minimization, Lora has a comprehensive understanding of sustainable operations and design. This expertise is vital to SSC’s success in supporting clients in implementing sustainability strategies, progressing in decarbonization goals, and achieving green building certification. SSC has empowered businesses to be drivers of positive global change for over 23 years.

Katie SheehanKatie SheehanSenior Associate, ESG at Tishman Speyer

Katie joined Tishman Speyer in 2019 in the Corporate Finance department after three years working in Asset Management for two lodging REITs - Chesapeake Lodging Trust (now Park Hotels & Resorts) and LaSalle Hotel Properties (now Pebblebrook Hotel Trust). In 2022, she transitioned to the global ESG team where she supports the firm’s corporate, project, and asset-level sustainability initiatives – particularly in the areas of energy and decarbonization, climate risk and resiliency, building certifications, and building materials/embodied carbon. She holds a BS in Hotel Administration with a minor in Real Estate from Cornell University, and an MS in Sustainability Management from Columbia University. Katie is a Living Future Associate, LEED Green Associate, and Fitwel Ambassador.

As Associate Director of Strategic Stakeholder Engagement at the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Tia is dedicated to strategically identifying and collaborating with diverse sectors and organizations to enhance engagement and participation in USGBC's initiatives. With a robust background in Conflict Resolution, Tia has concentrated on community development in urban settings, leveraging my expertise to foster sustainable and inclusive growth. Beyond her professional commitments, she is deeply involved in volunteering with local D.C. organizations, dedicated to providing support and resources to the community. Her passion for sustainable development is further evidenced by her LEED Green Associate and TRUE Advisor credentials, which underscore her commitment to green building practices and zero-waste principles. Tia holds a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution from the University of Baltimore and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and Relations from the University of Maryland. This academic foundation, coupled with her extensive professional experience, equips Tia to drive strategic stakeholder engagement and contribute meaningfully to the mission of the USGBC.

Join USGBC and industry experts for a discussion around the next iteration of the LEED green building certification system for new construction and existing buildings, LEED v5. As part of this new rating system, we have gathered a select group of project teams across diverse projects to provide critical feedback and support in shaping the system. USGBC intends to drive the built environment toward a low-carbon future that is equitable and resilient and promotes the wise, safe utilization of all resources. In this interactive session, speakers will take attendees on a guided tour of the new structure of the rating system. Additionally, this session will feature an in-depth understanding of the integrated approach to addressing the key issues of scale, decarbonization, health and wellbeing, resilience, equity, biodiversity, and other goals that are driving the development.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and offer insights as they learn more about USGBC’s work to create an end-to-end ecosystem for green building to ensure the built environment is supported in meeting goals from design to operations and including enhanced analytics and reporting for areas of focus such as ESG, building performance standards and Health and Wellness.

This version of LEED results from deep and meaningful conversations with the LEED community and is fueled by an urgency to address the most pressing global concerns. It represents what we have heard from volunteers, members, stakeholders and many others about the needs driving business decisions across the built environment.
