Before joining YIELCO, Maria was most recently a Partner at SwanCap Partners and its predecessor organisation UniCredit Principal Investments. Maria holds a double BSc degree in International Business Administration and Management from ICADE - Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid and the ESB Business School in Germany. She is also a CFA charterholder and member of the CFA Institute and speaks fluently English, German and Spanish.

    Geoffrey Geiger joined USS in 2007. He has been involved in the growth of the Private Markets Group since inception, today he heads the indirect private equity activities of USS, overseeing a portfolio of over £6 billion across private equity funds and co-investments. Geoffrey has sat on the boards of many portfolio companies and numerous advisory boards. Geoffrey has been working in private equity for over twenty-five years, including with Klesch & Company in London, Deutsche Bank in New York and Frankfurt and with MeesPierson in Geneva, Switzerland. Geoffrey received an MBA from UCLA Anderson and a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College in Vermont.

    Joe Topley joined GBL in 2023 to lead GBL Capital, the group’s €3bn indirect private equity business. Joe has over 20 years’ experience in private equity investing. Prior to GBL Capital, Joe was at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan where he was responsible for European Private Equity fund investments, having previously worked for the StepStone Group, a global asset manager. Joe started his career in management consulting and investment banking. Joe has an MBA from INSEAD, a degree in Molecular Biology from Imperial College, London and a post-graduate Diploma in Economics from University College, London. Joe recently served on the board of ILPA from 2019 to 2023.

Part of Carlyle, AlpInvest is a global investor in private equity with Assets Under Management of USD 72 billion per 30-Sep-23 across three complementary strategies: Fund Investments, Co-Investments and Secondaries. Piet-Hein joined Alpinvest in 2008. Piet-Hein received an MSc, cum laude, in Financial Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam. He represents AlpInvest Partners on various Advisory Boards.
