Jean-François (JF) Bureau is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial and Risk Officer at the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments) where he leads the Finance and Administration, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Strategic Planning, and Treasury teams. He has more than 30 years of experience in the North American and European financial markets.
JF joined PSP Investments in March 2010 as Chief Risk Officer with a mandate to create an integrated approach to managing a full spectrum of risks and to develop an effective risk structure that included a total fund perspective. In January 2020 he was appointed Chief Financial and Risk Officer.
Prior to joining PSP Investments, he held executive finance positions at a number of companies, notably as Vice President, Credit - Specialized Products at National Bank of Canada; Vice President, Corporate Projects – M&A at Groupe Vidéotron ltée; and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at DiagnoCure.
JF holds a master’s degree in Finance from Université Laval and is a CFA charterholder. He was Chair of the Standards of Practice Council of CFA Institute from 2018 – 2021 and currently sits on the Advisory Board of Institutional Investor.

Mark Kandborg works as the Group Chief Risk Officer at Nordea.
He has previously held several positions within Nordea, here among as Group Chief Financial Officer, Deputy Head of Large Corporates & Institutions and as the Group Treasurer.
He has an educational background as an economist from the University of Copenhagen and as Captain in the Danish Army.

Cristina is the global co-convener and European lead for the Risk & Resilience Practice.
Previously she was the co-convener of McKinsey’s work in wealth and asset management in Europe and the head of sustainability work in the banking sector. She was also a core leader of the Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Cristina focuses on serving financial institutions throughout Europe across a broad range of services with an emphasis on large transformations in banking and a spike in asset and wealth management, mainly on strategy and finance topics, she also has a passion for sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) transformation.
Examples of Cristina’s recent experience include the following:
designing the ESG transformation strategy of a leading European banking group defining the ESG scoring assessment for a corporate bank supporting the post-merger integration and international growth strategy between two European wealth management companies three-year strategic plan of a digital wealth manager integration of the sustainable investing principles for a leading asset manager design and implementation of an innovative value-based budgeting approach and reporting system for two large European banks industrial plan and coordination of the IPO process for a leading private bank multiple strategic due diligences and M&A scouting for leading private equity funds and international banks, including a wide range of wealth management and financial services targets Cristina rejoined McKinsey in 2015 after a two-year experience as head of CEO staff and executive assistant to the CEO in a large banking group. She first joined McKinsey in 2005 after a period of academic research and an experience in a major investing and wealth management organization. She holds a MSc in economics and a degree in economics and econometrics from Bocconi University, both Summa cum Laude (top one percent of the class).

Astrid Jäkel is the Group Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and member of the Management Board of Aegon N.V. Her responsibilities include managing Aegon’s Group Risk and Actuarial functions, along with maintaining the Group’s Risk Management framework and overseeing the risk management capabilities.
Prior to joining Aegon in 2022, Astrid was a Partner in the Insurance and Asset Management Practice of international management consultancy firm Oliver Wyman. Her consulting work focused on high-impact risk, capital, asset liability and investment management topics. She worked with leading European and global insurers on a broad range of projects to help transform and optimize their risk, finance, and investment capabilities, including the management of ALM, market, credit, insurance, and non-financial risks.
Astrid Jäkel holds a PhD in Finance from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar, Germany.

Taalib Shaah is Group Chief Risk Officer for Barclays, based in London. He is responsible for helping to define, set and manage the risk profile of the bank and leads the risk management organisation across the group. He is a member of the Group Executive Committee.
Taalib joined Barclays in late 2014 as Chief Risk Officer for the Investment Bank and in 2017 assumed the role of Chief Risk Officer for Barclays International (BBPLC), responsible for the Corporate and Investment Bank, the Private Bank and the Cards & Payments business. He assumed his current role in October 2020.
Prior to Barclays, Taalib spent four years at Citigroup where he was most recently Chief Risk Officer for Market Risk, Real Estate Credit, Treasury, Private Equity and Head of Model Validation. Previously, Taalib spent 17 years at Credit Suisse, working in various areas, including risk and the front office. He began his career at Ernst and Young.
Taalib holds an MA in Engineering Science and Economics from Oxford University and is a Chartered Accountant.
