Rikard JermstenRikard JermstenDirector General at Swedish Competition Authority

Rikard Jermsten is the Director General of the Swedish Competition Authority (SCA). He took office on 1 September 2017. Prior to joining the SCA, he held the position of Senior Judge of Appeal, Head of Division at the Administrative Court of Appeal in Stockholm. Mr Jermsten has previously worked within the Swedish government offices, and was Director General for Legal and Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Finance between 2010 and 2017.

Jakob Hald is the Director General of the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority, appointed on 1 January 2016. Prior to that Jakob Hald worked as Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Taxation 2014-2015.

From 2011 to 2014 Jakob Hald was Director General at the privately financed think tank Kraka whose purpose has been to deliver independent analysis and solutions to contribute to improve the quality of the economic debate in Denmark.

Before that, Jakob Hald was Chief Economist and Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance from 2003 to 2011 where he began as Head of Department in 1999.

From 1997 to 1999 he worked as a Chief Consultant in the Ministry of Economy and prior to that he was a special adviser at the Ministry of Finance from 1992 to 1993. Jakob Hald worked at Statistics Denmark from 1992-1993 and at Danske Bank from 1991 to 1992.

Jakob Hald graduated from the University of Copenhagen with a Master´s in Economics in 1991.

Jakob Hald serves as external censor at the University of Copenhagen and is member of the Board at Statistics Denmark.

Páll Gunnar Pálsson has been Director General of the Icelandic Competition since 2005. Previously he has held positions in the public administration, in the field of industry, commerce, energy and financial supervision. He is a lawyer by education.

Magnus Friis ReitanMagnus Friis ReitanDeputy Director, Department for Food, Retail and Health at Norwegian Competition Authority

Magnus Friis Reitan has worked in the Norwegian Competition Authority since 2009 in a variety of capacities, most recently as a Senior Advisor in the Chief Economist Team and in the Director General's Cabinet. In the fall of 2018, he visited the UK CMA on secondment as an Assistant Director of Economics.
