    Marian Willberg is the Manager of the Freight and Supply Chain team at Te Manatū Waka Ministry of Transport. Her team is responsible for multi-modal advice to support the effective and efficient operation of our domestic and international freight and supply chain system. Her team is currently overseeing and implementing the Aotearoa New Zealand Freight and Supply Chain Strategy, including focusing on ports and their connection to communities, progressing road freight decarbonisation, improving data sharing interoperability and strengthening international engagement. Before taking up her current role, she had oversight of the funding and financing tools for land transport, including fuel taxes, road user charges, tolling and pricing mechanisms. She also led the Crown team negotiating funding for the Auckland City Rail Link, New Zealand’s first underground railway, and prior to that was the Technology & Transport Systems Policy Manager, responsible for leading the implementation of the government’s Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Technology Action Plan 2014-2018. Marian has worked at Te Manatū Waka since 2005.
