Dr Kapil Shyam Lokare is the co-founder and Managing Director of Terra Mater BV. Anchored in the Flanders region, Terra Mater BV forms part of an overall strategy to diversify Belgium’s supply of crude oil inputs away from the near 100% reliance on fossil crude oil imports sources towards indigenous sources of supply and providing strategic solutions to the chemicals industry to reduce the production carbon footprint with applications in specialty chemicals and in sustainable aviation fuel in particular alcohol-to-jet. www.terra-mater.be

Since early 2000, he has managed over 70 team members globally, with a hands-on knowledge in various fields from sciences/industry/policies.

He oversees strategic business development of Cleantech Council Holdings (CTCH) Pty Ltd, Melbourne consisting of 20 employees across Australia and Europe. CTCH manages investments servicing the energy, water, and waste management companies and supports clients achieve superior business outcomes.

From 2015-2017, he served as Director of European Operations of Arkansas-based Lee Enterprises Consulting, where he supported the company’s biofuels and biochemicals business operations and focused on specific growth enablers, including global relationships, thought-leadership initiatives, and development program performance.

Earlier in 2011, he was VP at The Scripps Research Institute, Society of Research Fellows. He is a native of India, and holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Michigan State University, United States, under the tutelage of Professor Aaron Odom. With prior appointments at The Scripps Research Institute, United States (Professor Roy Periana & Professor William Goddard III, California Institute of Technology); Leiden University, The Netherlands (Professor Elizabeth Bouwman, Professor Eite Drent ex-Shell, retired); University of Sydney, Australia, (Professor Thomas Maschmeyer); Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany (Professor Christian Limberg & Professor Joachim Sauer, husband of the Chancellor of Germany, Dr. Angela Merkel).

He contributes to Fuels & Lubes International, Singapore in matters such as energy policies, renewable energy, and market analysis, presented at Fuel & Lubes 2016, alongside Toyota Motor Corp's Executive General Manager, Masanori Sugiyama, with the theme - Fuels & Lubricants in a Low-Carbon Economy, and at the World Bio-Markets 2017 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
