Ying Hou is the Director of Downstream Gene Therapy Process Development at PTC Therapeutics, Inc. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Dr. Hou is an expert in chromatography, membrane filtration, and viral clearance. She previously worked at Merck, gaining extensive experience in early and late-stage development and commercialization. At PTC, Dr. Hou leads a team responsible for small- and pilot-scale downstream process development, tech transfer to manufacturing, and regulatory filing support. She is passionate about contributing to the development of life-changing gene therapies to patients.
