Michelle Sanders is the first Director of Lived-Living Expertise (LLE) to be employed in the Queensland Mental Health Commission (the Commission) coming into the position in August 2023. Michelle’s appointment signalled the elevation of the Commissions’ commitment to Lived-Living Experience leadership and workforce development, with the creation of a Lived-Living Expertise team, consisting of a Program Manager (LLE), Principal Policy Officer (LLE), Senior Project Officer (LLE) and Program Manager (Human Rights & Legislation) over the last year. Michelle has over 25 years’ experience working in designated lived-living experience roles across a variety of locations and services specialising in Lived-Living Experience (peer) Workforce development in Public Mental Health & AOD services. The Commission is currently working in partnership with Queensland Health to build the capability of LIvedLiving Experience (peer) workforce in the Queensland community sector with Michelle and her team bringing their varied expertise to this important work

Naomi is the Executive Director of People and Governance at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and Health Service. Naomi is an experienced health care leader with a clinical background in nursing and advanced qualifications in health management and business. Her career spans across health policy, strategy and reform agendas. Most recently she has worked in health commissioning as the Executive Director Contract and Performance Management within the Queensland Department of Health. She has a keen interest in enabling the delivery of sustainable health services that deliver person-centred care.
