Dean Newburn is Regional Vice President, Global Services – Asia Pacific covering India, South East Asia, Indonesia, China, Australia and New Zealand. Dean has over 16 years of experience in the rail industry, incorporating various commercial and operations leadership roles, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Newcastle. Dean has a pivotal impact on the business across the region with his team to strengthen our customer relationships and develop a successful service operation. His organization oversees product development and implementation of upgrades, modernisation strategies and the delivery of the battery electric locomotives. He is also a champion of diversity leading the Diversity and Inclusion Council covering all the employee resource groups for Wabtec and celebrating a variety of experiences, expertise, and backgrounds, and aspire to create a place where we all belong.

Jane Gillespie (MBA) is a rail leader specialising in decarbonisation. Jane has led a team of 50 rail engineers, led multimillion dollar projects and held business development responsibilities. From 2019-2022 Jane sat on the Australian Railway Association’s Young Leaders Advisory Board, where she advocated for diversity and sustainability in rail. Jane has presented at conferences and forums about hydrogen and synthetic fuels in rail and developed a rail decarbonisation offering and skills development offering for Arup, a global engineering consultancy. Jane is currently enrolled on the Cambridge University climate and sustainability short course for business leaders. Jane relocated to Australia from the UK, where she worked for Network Rail, a rolling stock owning company and London Overground in commercial, account management and business development roles.


Joo Yin Ong is an influential and accomplished leader renowned for driving organisational excellence in sustainability and risk management. As EnergyAustralia's Green Transport leader, she is driving the organisation's transformative shift towards offering customers eco-friendly solutions to decarbonising their fleets and achieving their net-zero goals. With over 20 years of diverse experience and background in Chartered accounting, Joo Yin's expertise lies in establishing robust frameworks, effectively mitigating risks, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Her exceptional communication skills and her profound insights into sustainability and corporate governance have elevated her to be a sought-after leader. Through her dedication to customer-focused solutions and unwavering commitment to building effective teams, Joo Yin is an inspiring advocate for driving positive change towards a greener, more sustainable future for organisations worldwide.

Brian Brennan is the CEO of Transdev Australia and New Zealand, overseeing Transdev’s light rail operations in Sydney and heavy rail in Wellington. His public transport experience spans 25 years in different transport modes across Europe and Australia. He has deep light rail experience having led Dublin’s Luas tram network in Ireland helping deliver a 98% customer satisfaction rate. Brian has been pivotal in the delivery and operations of Sydney’s light rail and mobilising the city’s newest tram line taking shape now in Parramatta. His passion is developing people & serving customers – enabling about 200 frontline leaders this year through training to grow themselves and improve customer experiences. Brian embraces and actively encourages inclusivity and diversity, is committed to sustainable transport and promoting public transport as a critical social enabler. He lives in Sydney with his family, is a regular on the trams, ferries and buses and occasionally you might spot him on early morning jogs through the suburbs. Brian has served as a Public Transport Association Australia New Zealand (PTA ANZ) Board Director since 31 May 2023 and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
