Harmen Dekker has worked for almost 15 years within the sustainability sector and is devoted to the mitigation of climate change. With both a technical as well as a business administration background he has built his career in the water and gas sector, where he has held various management positions. He joins the EBA after being involved in the biogas sector for over 5 years. During those years, he not only focused expansion of biogas and in particular biomethane but also on the implementation of techniques such as bio-LNG, bio-Methanol, bio-Hydrogen and bioplastics.

Dr Svetlana Borovkova is an Associate Professor of Quantitative Finance and Risk Management at the Vrije University Amsterdam, and the Head of Quant Modelling at a risk management consulting firm Probability & Partners. Dr Borovkova is a renowned expert in applying alternative data and modern quantitative techniques to problems in derivatives and commodity markets, quant investing, and risk management. She is an author of over 60 scientific and professional publications and a frequent speaker at Risk Minds, Quant Minds and other global events. Her most recent publications are in the areas of machine learning for finance, sustainability and climate risk modelling.

David is Founder and Editor of the Global LNG Hub, European Gas Hub, Global Hydrogen Hub, Global Maritime Hub, and The Coal Hub. These arose from a recognized need for a centralized information base for analysts in these industries. Having spent more than 15 years working at a strategic level across the coal, natural gas, LNG, & shipping industries, David saw what kind of value a unified hub of information would bring to subscribers.

Joined Ignitis Renewables in March 2022, Thierry Aelens has top level executive and business development experience. He led offshore wind farm equipment constructions in one of the largest energy companies RWE Innogy (now – RWE renewables), he also served as VP in one of the leading offshore wind substation manufacturers STX France. During his tenure, contracts were concluded with such energy giants as Orsted, EDF, EON, Rentel.

Before joining Ignitis Renewables, T. Aelens assumed managerial positions in a renewable energy company Elicio and a consulting company Mitac Renewable Energy, which specialises in renewable energy sector. T. Aelens has earned a civil engineering bachelor’s degree in University College London and RWTH Aachen University and has graduated executive studies in one of the world’s leading international business schools INSEAD. He also broadens his knowledge of engineering, oil and gas as well as energy sectors in various professional trainings and study programmes.
