Wendy Waters has over 20 years of experience in real estate research, 18 with GWL Realty Advisors. At GWLRA she leads Research Services & Strategy team, which provides strategic analysis on office, industrial, retail and multi-residential portfolio strategy. The research team focuses on the economic, demographic and social drivers of real estate performance as well as capital flow and market trends that shape returns.

A key responsibility is providing proprietary research and analysis to support the development of new rental buildings (GWLRA has recently completed over 2000 units in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver with another 6000 units in the development pipeline across Canada). The team also provides research support for asset strategies on GWLRA’s 12,000 units of multi-residential under management across Canada.

Wendy regularly publishes research on LinkedIn, at gwlra.com/research and shares insights on panels across Canada. She is active with the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Co-Chairs RealPac’s Research Committee, and sits on the Board of Directors of the Urban Development Institute of British Columbia (UDI).

Eric Horie joined Trez Capital in January 2017 as Senior Vice President, Head of Origination. He is responsible for both leading the Canadian origination teams in and for sourcing commercial and multi-family mortgage loan and equity investment opportunities. Eric’s team originates, underwrites and structures lending transactions for Trez Capital’s various Funds.

Eric has over a decade of lending, underwriting and transactional experience, both in real estate and in diversified industry. Prior to joining Trez Capital, Eric was with BMO’s Commercial Banking Group where he held a variety of positions including leading a team of diversified industry lenders. Real estate transactional experience includes high leverage, construction, term, owner-user, syndications and joint offerings with mezzanine lenders.

Eric holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Richard Ivey School of Business. He is actively involved in a number of charitable causes including the United Way and the Richmond Hospital Foundation.
