About the speakers
- Holly GriffithProduct Manager, TRUE Certification at Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI)Holly is a zero-waste professional with six years of experience in certification; operations; education; and corporate consultancy in the sustainable waste management field. Currently the Product Manager of GBCI’s TRUE Certification program, Holly has helped develop the program as it grows to support a broader range of projects and portfolios. Prior to her work with GBCI, Holly acted as a consultant with Ecova, Inc., managing multiple client portfolios and supporting their development of sustainable and fiscally efficient waste management programs at a national scale. During this time, Holly also acted as Chair for the Solid Waste Advisory Council for Seattle Public Utilities, facilitating meetings and providing advisory support on issues related to zero waste. Most recently, Holly obtained an MSc in Environmental Management and Policy at Lund University in Sweden, expanding her sustainable expertise and fostering a passion in designing innovative, durable solutions to our most challenging material management issues.
- Celia RistowCertification Manager, TRUE Certification at Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI)Celia Ristow is the Certification Manager for TRUE, where she leads delivery of the certification for all customers globally. Prior to joining TRUE, Celia earned her Master of Environmental Management degree from the Yale School for the Environment. She founded and runs Litterless, the first directory of zero-waste stores and compost options throughout the United States. Her work to advance zero waste across a variety of settings has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Guardian.
- Vijaya YellamrajuVice President, Product Management at Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI)Vijaya is Vice President of Product Management at USGBC/GBCI. She leads, directs, and oversees the strategic management of USGBC and GBCI products and services (such as LEED, WELL, TRUE, SITES, etc.) across multiple business functions and verticals. She plays a key role in advancing shared product visions and developing new offerings to address market needs and accelerate the global adoption of these sustainability standards. Prior to her current role, Vijaya was VP of Certification at GBCI and was responsible for managing and overseeing the certification delivery and technical product development of GBCI’s emerging programs. She also directed GBCI’s Global Quality Program for Certification to ensure adherence with customer and industry quality requirements. Before joining USGBC, Vijaya was Principal at Green Potential, a green building/LEED consulting firm, where she was responsible for leading the technical and operational aspects of the business. Vijaya is a published author and wrote a book titled ‘LEED-New Construction Project Management’ (published by McGraw Hill) to guide sustainability professionals on how to manage the LEED certification process. She also serves on the Advisory Board of UC Riverside's Design Thinking Program. Vijaya is a trained architect, with an M.S. in Architecture specializing in energy and sustainable design from Texas A&M University, College Station.
