Marina Leytes is a Director at 57 Stars and a member of the ESG & Impact Committee, focusing on ESG integration and the firm’s impact strategy. Prior to 57 Stars, she was with Sarona Asset Management, an impact-focused emerging markets fund manager, where she led investor relations and ESG and impact management efforts. Previously, Marina was with the World Economic Forum’s Impact Investing and Blended Finance Initiatives. She began her career at Metropolitan Real Estate Equity Management, LLC (a BentallGreenOak subsidiary) in New York, where she led portfolio analysis and reporting for the company’s funds. Marina holds a BA (magna cum laude) in Computer Science from New York University and an MA in development economics from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.

Mr. Peter Grubstein has deep operating and investing experience in manufacturing and distribution businesses and in the environmental sectors. Mr. Grubstein has invested in sustainable businesses with innovative solutions to impact the world’s biggest problems. As the founder and Managing Member of NGEN in 2001, Peter was one of the earliest venture capitalists in the ESG sector. NGEN is a growth equity investment firm focusing on healthy living which has raised over $500 million in three funds. Mr. Grubstein has extensive experience as an entrepreneur and operating executive, having served for a number of years as COO and then CEO of a family manufacturing business. Mr. Grubstein is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Better World Acquisition Corp. and Enzymedica. Mr. Grubstein graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts.

Elsa Palanza is Managing Director and Global Head of Sustainability & ESG at ICG, where she is responsible for establishing and embedding the firm’s sustainability strategy, including advancing the integration of ESG factors across the firm’s asset classes as well as broad stakeholder engagement.
Prior to assuming this role, Elsa was Global Head of Sustainability & ESG at Barclays, where she led strategy, policy, and engagement for the bank on sustainability and ESG matters, including climate change and environmental stewardship, social impact, human rights, and sustainable finance. Elsa served in several industry leadership positions, including Western Europe Representative on the UNEP FI Banking Board, Co-chair of the Financial Services Task Force Net Zero Working Group at the SMI, and Co-chair of the UK Finance Sustainability Committee, and has done extensive public speaking on ESG.
Elsa has over 20 years of experience as a strategic advisor for companies, foundations, and civil society organizations, forging comprehensive solutions to complex global challenges. She served for six years as Director of Commitments for the Clinton Global Initiative, a role that afforded her broad insight into best practices in sustainability, and was enlisted by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to create and launch a platform to advance progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Earlier in her career, Elsa worked for several years in Washington, D.C. delivering geopolitical and industry risk analysis to international energy companies, and lived in Istanbul, Turkey, leading business operations for an education company’s pilot program.
Elsa has a BA in international studies from Middlebury College and attended the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, where she concentrated on international security studies.

Martin E. Diaz Plata is the Head of Private Equity Investments at BlueOrchard, an impact investment manager. From 2003 to 2022, Mr. Diaz Plata was a Managing Partner of Capital Group Private Markets, the private equity unit of the Capital Group, general partner of six private equity funds investing across emerging markets. Mr. Diaz Plata was Co-Chair of the Investment Committee, and a member of the Investment Oversight Committee and the Portfolio Management Committee. Before joining Capital Group, Mr. Diaz Plata worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette from 1995 to 2002 in its investment banking and merchant banking groups in New York and Buenos Aires; and at Corporacion Financiera del Valle in its fiduciary and brokerage divisions from 1990 to 1993 in Bogota.
Mr. Diaz Plata was previously a director of, among other privately held companies, Arcos Dorados, Jumbo Retail Argentina, Magazine Luiza, Eaton Towers Africa, Dentalia, Tanner, and Peñaflor. He currently serves on the board of directors of D1 Colombia on behalf of CPP Investments. Mr. Diaz Plata has led or co-led private equity investments in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Pan Latin America, Pan Africa, and China.
Mr. Diaz Plata is a graduate in Finance and International Relations of Universidad Externado de Colombia and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Mr. Diaz Plata was a board member of the Latin American Venture Capital Association (LAVCA, 2012-201😎, Chair of the Public Policy and Global Standards Council at LAVCA (2013-2017), and a founding faculty member of the LAVCA-MIT Private Equity Professional Development Program since 2016. He has also been a board member of the British Colombian Chamber of Commerce (2006 to 2023), and Children Change Colombia (2018-2020). Mr. Diaz Plata is the Chair of the Board of Trustees of Give to Colombia UK.

Alix has a leading expertise in sustainable finance, combining years of experience with sustainable investments and a recognized track record in the development of sustainable solutions. Before joining Sienna IM, Alix was Head of Responsible Development and member of the Responsible Investment Committee at Comgest for the past year. In 2019, she joined AFG (the French asset management association) as Head of Sustainable Investment. Prior to that, she served as a Senior Product Manager in charge of business development for equity and impact strategies at Mirova that she joined in 2015. Alix started her career at BNP Paribas Investment Partners in 2005, where she held a variety of roles including Investment Specialist – Sustainable & Responsible Investments. She holds a Master of Science in Management from E.M. LYON.
