Hello, everybody, and
welcome to Fintech Futures.

We are here at day two of Money 2020
Europe in Amsterdam, a very busy day for

everybody here involved in the conference.

And right now I'm very, happy to be
joined by Linda Clarke Linda, how are you?

As you say, it's very busy, very
hectic, but really great to connect

with everybody that's here and to
listen to some really interesting

It's fantastic to have
you with us for a moment.

So thank you very much
for joining us here today.

Before we get going, we've got some
really, interesting topics to talk about.

We've been talking about hyper
personalization, payments, and all

of the, good stuff that's really at
the core of Money 2020 here today.

but before we do that, why don't we
give our audience who maybe aren't

familiar with Tribe Payments, possibly,
maybe not, the opportunity to introduce

who you are, what your position is,
and what Tribe Payments says, please.

five and a half now, that
half is pretty important.

and we actually launched, Tribe
at Money 2020 a few years back.

Tribe are really quite a unique business.

we're a technology provider
for payments companies.

But what makes us a little
bit different as we operate

if you think about the way that you
buy something and you spend money

So we offer acquirer processing with
a gateway, and point of sale, but

we also look at issuer processing
and all of the value added services

So we literally operate across
the whole transaction, which is

and when people ask me who our
competitors are, of course we have lots

of competitors, but I truly believe no
one does exactly what we do at the moment.

That sounds like a very interesting remit.

And to be quite honest,
quite a full remit as well.

it comes with its own challenges,
but it is what makes us unique

and it is what, helps us have
the conversations with customers.

And actually our proposition is what
helps our customers to grow because

they can take one part of our business
and actually grow other parts of their

So I've been with tribe about
two and a half years now.

and my role within tribe
is chief operating officer.

it literally means that most
days I wear a different hat.

So one day I'm working in the marketing
side, one day the operations, one

So there's a whole different element
of stuff, but it's all about customer

experience and making sure that we give
our customers the right experience.

that's really one of the home messages
of Money 2020 Europe this year is really

meeting customers, clients, whoever
they are, where they want to be met.

Which is really interesting,
an interesting stance to have.

It's, I think it's something that's
easier to say, but actually in

practice, it's, what a million hurdles
need to go a hundred miles an hour.

what, what has that, process looked
like for Tribe and in its services?

so I asked my team actually,
why do customers buy from us?

a lot of businesses, even if they
think they sell a value proposition,

very often they're just selling the
features and what a company does.

so I think what we're really
trying to focus on, is why we do

what we do, like what problems
are we solving for our customers?

and that's something that
we're really focusing on tribe.

And it's Not just because that
person knows that person over there.

People are buying because
they've got problems.

And that's what we're trying
to focus on at the moment.

And that means in turn, we'll be
building the right things to solve

It's interesting that you should use
that term, building the right things

for your customers and, meeting your
customers where they want to be met,

you've just spoken on a, a session
addressing hyper personalization.

Can you tell us a little
bit more about the session?

it's an interesting one because
actually when someone said to

me, Oh, hyper personalization, I
thought not another buzzword, right?

and what's the hyper part
of personalization and,

but I am really passionate about
customer experience, and I want to make

sure that I embrace those theories as
we try and build out better customer

and I started to think about hyper
personalization and what that

meant, and much of my presentation
went into what is it and why is it

important rather than telling people
exactly what they needed to do.

At the end, we went through
some kind of key areas of that.
