greatly affects your children's future.

Goal 17 is, in my opinion,
the most critical of them all.

It's where partnerships come together
and really where we ensure that

everyone has a seat at the table.

So Goal 17 within the UN SDGs, the
Sustainable Development Goals, really

is ensures that we have a free flow of
resources to all all countries, both

{{00:00:54}}
developed and developing, and ensures
that we have partnerships across private,

{{00:00:58}}
and public and non profit sectors to
ensure that everyone can accelerate their

{{00:01:04}}
action, be it resources financially or
professional development or otherwise.

If you're a small business, you also have
a role to play in this SDG 17 because in

your local community, there may be ways
that you can work together with public

{{00:01:24}}
sector, with private sector, Work together
with other business leaders in the area

to ensure that everyone is coming together
and has access to the resources they need

in order to accelerate the other 16 SDGs.

At the global scale, small businesses
also have a role to play through way

through things like Global Compact or
other organisations like ISSP, where

you can come and freely share resources
and ensure that you're able to share

your expertise in your own sector.

with other small businesses that may be
on the other side of the globe because

we are all better when we're together.

So some challenges that SMEs might
face is a lack of bandwidth and budget.

So,  these teams tend to be a lot
smaller and may not have multi,  multi

layer professional teams around
sustainability, around the work

that's encompassed by the SDGs.

So what that can look like is,  staff that
may or may not even have sustainability

in their job title actually taking on
what is sustainability work to ensure

that their organisation is accelerating
action, towards a brighter future for all.

While that's a challenge, it's also an
opportunity to ingrain sustainability

across all professionals and across
all members of a team to ensure

that everyone has a fundamental
knowledge of sustainability

and how their specific role.

can accelerate the progress and
the impact of their organisation.

Small businesses tend to be able
to work a little bit quicker

and be a little bit more agile
than multilateral organisations.

While the budget might be a little
bit different at the end of the day,

we need everyone at every level to
be understanding the fundamentals of

sustainability, understanding the SDGs

and ensuring that they're making an impact
right there in their local community.

It can feel really big to be an SME
and want to make an impact, especially

maybe in developing countries that
might be in the global south or

further away from your backyard.

However, there's a lot of ways
you can get involved in really

accelerating SCG 17 from the comfort
of your home and your neighborhood.

So yes, you can impact
your local community.

But the world at large also
needs your support as an SME.

And one way to do that is to join a
network like International Society of

{{00:03:41}}
Sustainability Professionals, where
you are jumping on networking calls

all the time with professionals across
the world to ensure that they have the

{{00:03:49}}
resources and the knowledge that they
need to be able to accelerate action.

And that may look like you know,
answering a question that they have.

How did you do that?

How did you,  how can we
find resources for that?

That may look like just finding
camaraderie and making sure that

you can build the connections
and the positive momentum around

the work that you're doing.

Because at the end of the day, whether
you're doing this work in Uganda, in

Singapore, or in New York City, whether
you're an SME or a multilateral,

you know, massive organisation.

We're all trying to make the
world a better place and we can

all support each other in some
way towards that better future.

The International Society of
Sustainability Professionals brings

and across all sectors in order to
advance the  access to partnerships,

multi level stakeholder relationships,
ensure that,  we aren't doing things

the wheel in the work that we're doing.

We ensure that you always have somewhere
to go to ask questions, because

unfortunately, way too many organisations
out there and professionals out there

wheel, researching on Google, and we

just don't have time to to be able to
go backwards and,  and take the time

At the end of the day, climate is one
of those things that does not only

affect certain portions of our society,
it affects everyone in our society.
