Victoria we have a digital build

program, which is directly focused on
how to uplift the digital behaviors

and capability of government.

This has been a long journey for us.

With the release of Victorian Digital
Asset Strategy, for instance in March

2020, digital Asset Policy, which
sets the requirements for government

delivery projects in September 2021.

And we're working on legal and training
and many different aspects, all designed

to help uplift the capability in projects
to deliver better service outcomes.

So in terms of funding these initiatives
it's always a careful and robust process.

There's many sort of
competing technologies,

especially in the rail space.

Think about rail signaling technology.

It needs to be good for today.

So fit for purpose for today, but
fit for purpose for the future and

needing to minimize any rework or
lag or unnecessary costs there.

So in funding new technology, we always
need to think about what the outcomes

of that technology will deliver and
how will that be used into the future.

Implementing new technology is complex.

It's something new, so we need to
help people along that journey.

Part of that is definitely focusing on how
to make things simple as much as possible,

so putting it into language of normal
project delivery, or people accessing

those technologies or needing to work on
those, but providing guidance, providing

training, providing that consistency
that's needed to build that momentum and

build that status quo and get people to
realize that this is not so much of a

challenge but is really easy to implement.

Victorian government does a lot of
collaboration and engagement both

locally and internationally as well.

I'd say for all the work in the
Office of Projects Victoria,

we do extensive engagement.

We are part of many different
forums within Victorian government

working with all the different
delivery agencies and departments.

But we're also involved in many
different forums and stakeholder groups,

both nationally and internationally.

So we're making sure that we've got the
best for Victoria and we're very clear

that what we're doing is for Victorians.

I think there's a lot of
room for improvement in how

we adopt new technologies.

I'd like to see a quicker, but more,
quick but reliable path forward there.

So we're not necessarily picking the
most, the newest thing, but we're

thinking about how does this affect our
system and having a long term plan in

how our network will work as a whole.

And making sure it's best for Victoria.

So I'd love for us to be open and
embracing of technology and change.
