We have seen the evolution of virtual healthcare over the past few years that has been accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. This talk will illustrate concepts of virtual medical practice on a virtual ward. It will review emerging digital health tools and how they support virtual healthcare. It will also address virtual risk management and the supporting governance structures that optimise virtual health care. These concepts will ultimately show how to safely translate unplanned care to planned care.
