Piotr KusPiotr KusGeneral Director at ENTSOG

Before joining ENTSOG in January 2022 as ENTSOG General Director, Piotr Kuś held the position of Deputy Director in the Development Division at GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., since January 2017. His main areas of responsibilities included international cooperation, institutional relations, cooperation with EU institutions and international trade organisations. Between 2019 and 2021, Piotr was GIE Board Member acting as a sponsor of the CH4 Area. Since 2016, Piotr was a member of the GTE Executive Committee to supervise activities of future sustainable solutions in the natural gas infrastructure. Prior to that, between 2008 and 2016, Piotr was Director of the Brussels Office of GAZ-SYSTEM, in charge of managing the company’s EU affairs.

Agnieszka AsonAgnieszka AsonSenior Visiting Research Fellow at Oxford Institute for Energy Studies

Agnieszka Ason is an independent energy lawyer and consultant with over ten years of sector-specific legal and commercial experience. She has worked on energy transactions and disputes with top-tier law firms in Berlin, London and Singapore, and has acted (as legal counsel and expert) in major energy arbitrations and gas and LNG price reviews in Europe and Asia. She has expertise in gas, LNG and hydrogen-related matters and currently prioritises assignments as an arbitrator and strategic advisor.

Alongside her legal and advisory work, Agnieszka is a Senior Visiting Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, where she has published high-impact papers, including studies on 'Asian LNG Price Reviews and Arbitrations' (2019) and 'International Gas Contracts' (2022). She has edited several energy publications, including OGEL (Oil, Gas and Energy Law) Issues on ‘Changing LNG Markets and Contracts’ (2020) and ‘Carbon Neutral Energy’ (2022).

Agnieszka is a regular speaker and moderator at industry events. She is an Honorary Lecturer in International Dispute Resolution at Queen Mary University of London and a Senior Advisor and Lecturer in Energy Law at the Technical University of Berlin. Agnieszka is also the Course Director for Informa's Certificate in LNG.

Nemunas Biknius, CEO of gas transmission system operator Amber Grid has more than 20 years of experience in energy and primarily in gas sector. Before Amber Grid, during his professional career he was involved in various managerial and Board positions in Lietuvos dujos, Ministry of Economy, EPSO-G, Baltpool and Litgrid. In his duties he took part and steered the number of strategic energy projects of national and regional importance. He has engineering background with further EMBA studies.

Kęstutis StarkusKęstutis StarkusSenior Legal Advisor for Regulatory Management, Legal Department at ORLEN Lietuva

Kęstutis Starkus is a regulatory affairs lawyer with a focus on energy, environment and the industrial transition. He took his current position at a fuel supplier and oil refinery ORLEN Lietuva in 2013 and has seen the past decade of regulatory dynamics both in theory and in practice. Kęstutis will share his thoughts on what effects certain policy and regulatory choices have on the process of decarbonization.
