Sacha has worked internationally with large complex organisations and high hazard industries for the past 28 years.

She has a particular interest Critical Risk and Safety in design, in particular how best to leverage workers 'lived' experience to truely understand challenges faced while also stimulating culture change through high engagement in solution modelling. On returning to New Zealand in 2012, Sacha was heavily involved in the industry working groups established to implement the new Mining Operations Regulations and has participated in the development of a number of guidance documents and codes covering mining operations, occupational health, emergency preparedness, road and roadside worker safety and welfare and was part of a team that campaigned for rail level crossings to be factored into temporary traffic management plans. In the past 18months Sacha's team have implemented a package of work relating to potentially traumatic events, supporting rail workers who have been exposed to near fatal and fatal incidents. This has been a significant piece of work involving workers, safety reps and unions.

Since joining Fonterra in FY14, Chuck has been at the forefront of safety and engineering innovation. In 2019, he led a specialized SME team to address evolving H&S legislation for Major Hazard Facilities, introducing key Process Safety Management practices aimed at mitigating significant risks to people, the environment, and communities.

Chuck's prior role as General Manager, Engineering (NZM), saw him instituting best practices in Maintenance, Utilities, Faculties, Stores, and Capital Projects across New Zealand. His foundation in aerospace engineering, including a tenure as an Air Force Engineering Officer and roles with EADS and DuPont across Asia, underscores his expertise in high-stakes environments. Currently, Chuck is completing a doctorate at Otago University, studying chronic unease in hazardous socio-technical systems. His work is a testament to his commitment to advancing risk management in complex settings.
