Sacha Montgomery

Sacha has worked internationally with large complex organisations and high hazard industries for the past 28 years.

She has a particular interest Critical Risk and Safety in design, in particular how best to leverage workers 'lived' experience to truely understand challenges faced while also stimulating culture change through high engagement in solution modelling. On returning to New Zealand in 2012, Sacha was heavily involved in the industry working groups established to implement the new Mining Operations Regulations and has participated in the development of a number of guidance documents and codes covering mining operations, occupational health, emergency preparedness, road and roadside worker safety and welfare and was part of a team that campaigned for rail level crossings to be factored into temporary traffic management plans. In the past 18months Sacha's team have implemented a package of work relating to potentially traumatic events, supporting rail workers who have been exposed to near fatal and fatal incidents. This has been a significant piece of work involving workers, safety reps and unions.
