Raymond YuenRaymond YuenCEO – Australian Business at MTR

Raymond Yuen is currently the Chief Executive Officer – Australian Business, and responsible for managing the MTR Corporation’s Australian Business portfolio primarily including two major operations & maintenance franchise contracts with Metro Trains Melbourne and Metro Trains Sydney as well as the delivery of Sydney Metro City & Southwest Project. Raymond’s portfolio also covers business development in Australia and New Zealand, which includes rail and rail-related precinct development. Raymond has been with the MTR Corporation since 2015 and has taken up different executive positions with overall responsibilities for marketing, strategic planning, revenue management and transformation of MTR’s core businesses in Hong Kong. Prior to joining MTR, Raymond held various managerial and executive positions in the aviation and energy sectors. Raymond is a Member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong. He received his BA degree from the City University of Hong Kong, MA degree from the University of Hong Kong and MSc degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Samantha Gain is the Kaiwhakahaere Matua / Group Manager of Metlink at Greater Wellington. Previously, she was the regional council’s general manager of corporate services and the first female president of the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA NZ). A qualified lawyer, who was an executive at the UK Local Government Association and a senior associate at DLA Piper before joining Greater Wellington, Sam is a visionary torchbearer, bringing upbeat and positive leadership to Wellington’s much loved and well patronised public transport network. Under her watch, Metlink is on track to becoming a fully electric public transport provider on rail, road and sea.

Gwyneth has spent more than 25 years working in transport infrastructure, principally across the UK and Europe. Her experience includes commercial strategy, government policy, competition and economic regulatory fields in a high profile and high impact sector that influences key outcomes for national economies. Before joining KiwiRail, her roles have included Director in PwC’s Deals team in the UK working globally on infrastructure transactions and value enhancement, and as strategy consultant with Booz&Co/Strategy&.

Martin UdaleMartin UdaleService Line Lead, Strategic Property at frequency

Martin is a strategic property/business advisor to a range of public and private sector clients and organisations. He brings extensive experience in the conception, planning and delivery of major capital projects across asset classes from commercial offices to universities, airports to industrial, and single sites to large-scale urban renewal programmes. With more than 35 years’ experience in commercial, mixed use and residential property development and investment in Australia and New Zealand, he brings both senior executive and governance experience and in the planning,establishment and delivery of large scale and complex projects. Martin is comfortable in working from “boiler room, to board room” and frequently presents advice at C-suite, Board, and Ministerial levels.

Katarzyna JurkiewiczKatarzyna JurkiewiczPrincipal Consultant at Grimshaw

Katarzyna is a Principal in Grimshaw’s Auckland studio. She is an experienced design leader with over 15 years of expertise in the design and delivery of transport infrastructure.

What started as an interest in driving DfMA and standardisation on Crossrail’s Elizabeth Line, has now become a focus on the delivery of highly sustainable station environments underpinned by circular economy principles.

Prior to relocating to Auckland, Katarzyna was in charge of Grimshaw’s architectural team working on the CBD and South East Light Rail and has also been involved in a number of integrated station development projects with Sydney Metro. Katarzyna is now the architecture lead on Auckland Light Rail as well as co-lead of the Grimshaw Auckland studio.
