Samantha Gain

Samantha Gain is the Kaiwhakahaere Matua / Group Manager of Metlink at Greater Wellington. Previously, she was the regional council’s general manager of corporate services and the first female president of the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA NZ). A qualified lawyer, who was an executive at the UK Local Government Association and a senior associate at DLA Piper before joining Greater Wellington, Sam is a visionary torchbearer, bringing upbeat and positive leadership to Wellington’s much loved and well patronised public transport network. Under her watch, Metlink is on track to becoming a fully electric public transport provider on rail, road and sea.
