A.J. is Head of Sustainable Finance, ETFs and Asset Managers at Euroclear.
Previously, he was co-founder and CEO of Axial, the first Fintech to process SMAs in Asia Pacific. Alongside strategic investors BlackRock, Credit Suisse and Morningstar, he innovated its unique marketplace and drove expansion across the region, culminating in a private equity sale.
A.J. was CEO of Managed Investments for BNY Mellon APAC where he built the company’s global wealth platform from scratch. He initiated ESG investing and was recognized by Asian Private Banker with the Asset Management Award for Excellence. He also worked at Nomura as Managing Director of Asset Management Hong Kong, leading the strategy to digitalize third party capabilities for Asia.
Prior to that, A.J. was President of Managed Accounts for Pershing LLC, including investment advisor Lockwood. He integrated legacy units to unlock value, creating the largest U.S. player with USD 340B in assets and 600 staff. He transitioned Citigroup’s private bank off Smith Barney technology. For advances in UMA and Robo, A.J. was recognized for leadership in innovation with awards from NOVA, NICSA and MMI.
He served on the ten person executive team that operated and then sold PNC’s GIS global custodian to BNY Mellon. As President of affiliate AdvisorPort, he launched TAMPs for sponsors including J.P. Morgan, and tailored socially-responsible SMAs. A.J. joined PNC to implement its product strategy division globally for GIS. A.J. began his career as a product manager at Federated, opening its fund business in Germany and Ireland. He also started TrustConnect, a high-growth fund trading platform for U.S. trust departments.
A.J. resides in Brussels and has an international studies degree from Johns Hopkins and a graduate diploma from SAIS
