Andrew Cross
Managing Director Cross Risk Consulting and former Director of Financial Risk & Analytics at NatWest
Andrew Cross is Managing Director of Cross Risk Consulting, a risk consultancy practice focused on climate and sustainability, data and analytics and transformation of risk processes and functions.
Previously, Andrew was the Director of Financial Risk & Analytics at NatWest based in London. In that role he provided executive leadership of Financial Risk & Analytics across the NatWest Group delivering insights and analysis that shaped and supported the bank's strategy. These include outputs from stress testing, IFRS9 and earnings volatility analysis as well as second line review and challenge of all the Group’s financial risks including capital, funding, liquidity and pension risk.
Andrew was also responsible for most of NatWest Group’s credit and non-trading risk models and the development of advanced risk analytics including climate risk modelling. Andrew led a global team of over 250 risk specialists spread across 6 locations in the UK and India.
Andrew has spent most of his career leading enterprise risk and risk enabling activities at leading international banks. This followed qualifying as a Chartered Accountant after graduating in Mathematics from Cambridge University. Andrew is a GARP Sustainability & Climate Risk certificate holde
