Andrew Petering

Andrew is the co-founder of Nexus Hospitals Group and has been Chief Executive since 2014. Prior to taking the helm at Nexus, Andrew spent 25 years in corporate finance and private equity, developing a broad appreciation of different business models and approaches to strategic growth. Andrew has overseen the development and integration of each of sixteen Nexus hospitals into a national health care group delivering exceptional patient care. Andrew is passionate about delivering positive change in the private health care sector. Through a culture of collaboration with major stakeholders, Nexus delivers improved models of care that better serve the interests of patients, doctors and staff, while also providing better value for the overall healthcare system. Throughout his career, Andrew has served in both executive and non-executive roles across a wide variety of industries. This has reinforced Andrew’s belief that the fundamentals of success are a clear strategy, being nimble to meet market needs, flawless execution and a relentless focus on the customer. Andrew is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and a member of The Executive Connection. Andrew is also the author of an explanatory text on private equity “In the Driver’s Seat”, published in 2013.
