Anne Barber
Biocompatibility Scientist at Cardinal Health

Anne Barber earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Ripon College. In 2002, she started her professional career coordinating regulatory and data management activities for oncology clinical trials at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH followed by working as a clinical research associate for oncology clinical trials at City of Hope National Medical Center. In 2009, Anne entered the medical device industry at a cochlear implant manufacturer (Advanced Bionics), developing and implementing biological safety evaluation strategies and biocompatibility testing and reporting to demonstrate compliance to ISO 10993-1, along with assisting Regulatory Affairs with certification requests, inquiries and submissions for various notified bodies including FDA, TUV, PMDA and CMD. Anne joined Cardinal Health as a biocompatibility scientist in 2021, developing biological evaluation plans and biological risk assessments to ensure compliance to ISO 10993-1 for both new products and changes to existing products and product lines. She also is active in assisting with MDR submissions from the biocompatibility perspective, providing data and expertise where needed and ensuring proper justification to meet the requirements with existing or new data.
Anne lives in California with her husband and 2 young daughters.
