Cheryl is a Senior Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) Pharmacist at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Since completing her Masters of Pharmacy in the United Kingdom, she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy at Derby University and a residency program with Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. Cheryl has a clinical background and interests in medical oncology, haematology, intensive care and infectious diseases in public hospitals in both the United Kingdom and Australia. As a QUM pharmacist, she has had the opportunity to implement quality improvement strategies to improve patient safety and reduce medication related harm. In 2022, Cheryl led a Learning Health Systems project with the University of Melbourne to develop surveillance and clinical decision support of anticoagulants within the electronic medical record.
