Ciar Foster
Principal at University High School

Ciar Foster is Principal of University High School, a large and diverse inner-city public secondary school. Taking on the principalship mid-pandemic in July 2020, fostering staff and student wellbeing during times of change and crisis has been a strong focus of her work. Ciar began her educational leadership in 2012, as a Leading Teacher for Student Engagement and Pathways at Sandringham College, and has held Assistant Principal roles at both Sandringham College and Northcote High School. Prior to her career in education, Ciar spent ten years as a chef, working in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Rome. She holds a Masters in School Leadership and her teaching background is in English and Humanities.
