Ian Cook

Ian is a career Electrical Engineer in the Railways of Melbourne after graduating from Monash University in 1974. He is currently providing and informing for the strategies to improve the performance of the Traction Power System at Metro Trains Melbourne. He has a passion for the application of new technologies and systems to improve operator safety, reduce maintenance and provide better passenger services, along with a reduction in energy consumption. He was instrumental in proposing, and getting acceptance for, the Energy Storage Unit installed at Diamond Creek.
