Matt Moncrieff

Matt is a proud Yamatji man from Carnarvon, WA, with over 15 years of experience in the resources industry. Starting his career at BHP, he focused on Indigenous Engagement, Traditional Owner Agreements and Negotiations, Global Communications, and Project Management of offshore oil and gas assets, as well as onshore coal, nickel, and iron ore assets. During the recent referendum, Matt transitioned to the ‘First Peoples Assembly of Victoria,’ where he led the Policy team in initiating Treaty Negotiations with the Victorian Government, supporting 32 elected Traditional Owner representatives from across Victoria. Following the referendum, Matt moved into the renewable energy sector. He now oversees Octopus Australia’s stakeholder engagement strategy which has a strong focus of Indigenous Participation
