Omar Al Yawer

Omar is a Partner at Ruya Partners and brings over 22 years of experience accumulated working for leading global and regional asset management firms covering the Middle East. Omar has spent the last 13 years covering the Gulf region in senior investor advisory roles focused on sovereign wealth funds, pensions, endowments, banks and family groups. Prior to joining Ruya Partners, Omar was Executive Director at J.P. Morgan Asset Management responsible for re-establishing the firm’s presence in the Gulf region. Omar has also held other senior roles covering the Gulf region including Director of Middle East Sales at Man Group, Director of Institutional Sales at Franklin Templeton Investments and Head of Investor Relations at NBK Capital Partners.

Prior to moving back to the Middle East, Omar spent the first 9 years of his career in asset raising and institutional sales roles in the U.S. including Director of Investor Services at John W Henry & Co. and Principal at TradeStation Securities. Omar started his career in 1999 as an equity trader for JGM Securities in Miami.

Omar holds a B.A. in Business Management from Florida Atlantic University. He is currently serving as a non-executive Board Member of Heavy Engineering Industries & Shipbuilding Company (HEISCO) listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange.
