Patrick Murphy

As Director of Sustainable Design for Vanderweil Engineers, Patrick is leveraging his passion and experience in sustainable, integrated, and innovative building design to lead Vanderweil's Building Performance Group to inform designs through rigorous energy, carbon, and water analysis. Patrick’s background as an architectural engineer with a focus on sustainable MEP systems informs his multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to building design. x000D x000D Patrick’s career is highlighted by multiple awards, speaking at numerous conferences, and his involvement and leadership in the design of multiple LEED Platinum projects; multiple net-zero energy facilities; an off-grid net zero facility; and multiple WELL and Fitwel projects. His leadership in sustainable design has been recognized with over a dozen awards including the national Architectural Engineering Institute’s 2018 Most Innovative Project and 2022 Best Overall Project Awards, the USGBC-NCR’s 2018 Midsummer Night’s Green Award for Most Innovative Project, first place in the Metropolis Magazine NextGen Design Competition, and two USGBC-MD Awards for Excellence in Green Building.
