Sebastiao has been working at the European Data Protection Officer (EDPS) Policy and Consultation Officer as a Legal Officer since 2023, where he is advising the EU co-legislators on matters related to privacy and data protection and participating in the works of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB). This includes working on the interplay between the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) with other areas of law, including the new legal acts stemming from the EU 'Digital Rulebook', such as the DSA and the DMA. His current focus is on fostering cross-regulatory cooperation and consistency by proposing ideas for a 'Digital Clearinghouse' 2.0.
