Prior to forming Criterion Africa Partners he was the Managing Director responsible for raising over $1 billion for Global Environment Fund (GEF) for growth equity and buyout investments in the U.S and emerging markets including sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Latin America. Prior to his private equity career, George was responsible for new business development and corporate ventures for Hewlett-Packard and he began his career as a systems design engineer in the aerospace industry. He holds a Master of Business Administration from George Washington University and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
