She was part of a team awarded "Reuters Journalist of the Year" in 2022 for the coverage of the European Energy Crisis. Previously, She spent a decade in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East's largest economy and the world’s top oil exporter, covering a broad range of topics including the impact of the 2011 oil boom, the 2015 oil slump, the Kingdom's economic transformation and its efforts to diversify away from hydrocarbons, Saudi Aramco IPO and provided an in-depth understanding of the kingdom's young crown prince’s ambitious reform agenda. She was part of Reuters team awarded 2018 “scoop of the year” for coverage of the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Marwa joined Reuters in 2009 in Cairo, Egypt.

Masataka YARITA oversees business development for oil and gas upstream activities including low carbon solutions as Project Director, Business Strategy Department of Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC). He is jointly appointed as Head for Methane Management Taskforce and Senior Researcher for oil markets and European oil, gas and climate change issues in Research and Analytics Department of JOGMEC since November 2021. Previously, he served as a stocks and demand analyst at the International Energy Agency (IEA) and provided analysis on OECD and major non-OECD petroleum inventories for the flagship monthly publication, Oil Market Report. He also contributed the IEA’s five-year oil market forecast providing an analysis on fundamental economic issues, petrochemical sector and global strategic petroleum reserves. He holds LLM in International Oil and Gas Law and Policy with Distinction from University of Dundee in Scotland and bachelor’s degree of Global Political Economy from Waseda University in Tokyo.
