Description

(1) Trinity Financial presentation - 425 Grand Concourse, NY (app 20min) with focus on project and climate specific solutions that led to successful passive house certification including envelope, mechanical system; the second part of the presentation will focus on the economic impact (both capex and operations) of these system and material choices. (2) The Neutral Project presentation - The Edison, Milwaukee (app. 20min) with focus on project and climate specific solutions that led to successful passive house certification including envelope, mechanical system; the second part of the presentation will focus on the economic impact (both capex and operations) of these system and material choices. (3) Q&A / Interactive dialogue with the audience (app. 20min) Example dialogue: - Which ventilation systems would you suggest for the specific project contexts? - Options include individual ERV, individual HRV, semi-central ERV, semi-central HRV, central ERV, central HRV, etc - Panel explains decision making path to central ERV for 425 Grand Concourse, and M solution for The Edison Similar discussions are productive for common façade / window combinations and heating/cooling systems and other passive house key components. At the end of each of our presentations the panel will show “Passive House Green Cost Premium” for the individual components selected, and these costs were balanced in the pro-forma holistically e.g. with reduced operation cost due to reduced energy usage. We are aiming to engage a wide range of expertise in the audience meaningfully (other developers, designers, raters, policy experts), and they can better understand why a developer would think this way or that, and why certain aspects of building design are more important to us than others.
