Audrey Sonerson

As the Secretary for Transport and the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Transport, Audrey is responsible for delivering advice to the Government on transport issues including rail. Audrey’s work in relation to rail includes ensuring the Ministry’s effectiveness in developing policy to support a safe and reliable rail system that grows New Zealand’s economy. Audrey is an experienced public service leader, having held senior roles at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade, New Zealand Police, the Treasury and the Ministry of Justice. She has a Master’s degree in Economics from Victoria University of Wellington.
