The Honourable Dale Last MP, Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, Minister for Manufacturing and Minister for Regional and Rural Development. The Honourable Dale Last was appointed Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, Minister for Manufacturing and Minister for Regional and Rural Development in November 2024. Born and raised in regional Queensland, Dale has a family background in the sugar and cattle industries. He spent over 30 years as a police officer before entering local government. He was elected to Townsville City Council in 2008 and also served as Deputy Mayor. He previously held the role of Area Director Emergency Management Queensland, helping to steer the northern Queensland region through natural disasters. He is no stranger to the Resources sector, having held the position of Shadow Minister for Natural Resources and Mines from December 2023 – October 2024, as well as holding several other Shadow Ministry positions since his election in 2015.
