Elina Aartola-Mäkelä
Strategic Risk Expert & CRO Delegate, Group Credit Risk Control at Nordea
Elina Aartola-Mäkelä is a Strategic Risk Expert & CRO Delegate at Nordea providing credit risk oversight of Leveraged Finance and Large Corporates. Previously she has held a position of the Head of Model Risk & Validation and other leader roles in the areas of Credit and AML Risk at Nordea.
She has an extensive experience from the financial industry, including a CRO and Head of Risk and Compliance role in another bank in the Nordics, as well as senior roles in a multilateral bank, private equity and business consulting.
During her career, Elina has also held a position of a Head of Division in the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority and participated the working groups for European regulatory guidelines. She holds a degree of a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Aalto University.
