Emily Griffin

Wearing many pharmacist hats, Emily has made significant contributions to the pharmacy profession early in her career including co-building an Australian-first Statewide Pharmacy Service. Emily is a credentialed consultant pharmacist, business owner, senior hospital pharmacist, and educator. Emily has a passion for delivering the best healthcare possible to patients by deepening her knowledge and extending her scope of practise. Emily’s other areas of interest and passion include promoting and supporting the rural pharmacy workforce, advocating for pharmacists, encouraging positive workplace cultures, promoting health, and educating the next generation of pharmacists.

Emily’s expertise spans practice settings and her clinical expertise spans many specialty areas including the Health of Older People, Oncology, Acute and Emergency Medicine, Education, Palliative Care, and Voluntary Assisted Dying. She conducts Home Medicines Reviews, other consulting, health promotion, and advocates for pharmacists through her business ENCAPSULED. Emily is a Teaching Associate within the Master of Clinical Pharmacy and the undergraduate program, and a Lecturer within the School of Rural Health at Monash University. She is the Rural Pharmacy Liaison Officer for Victoria; a way for her to give back to her roots in rural Victoria. Emily is a pharmacist at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.

Emily was awarded Early Career Pharmacist of the Year at the recent Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Victorian Pharmacist Awards Night.
