Dr Kate George is a Putejurra woman from the Murchison-Gascoyne region in WA and was the first Aboriginal student to graduate in law from the ANU and the first Aboriginal woman to be admitted to practice law in WA. She has held senior public service positions, including as a Ministerial Advisor at both the State and Federal level and worked across the corporate, public and non-government sectors during her career. She is a Board member Northern Australia Infrastructure Fund (NAIF), Deputy Chair Marputu Aboriginal Corporation (RNTBC) and Co-Lead DCCEEW’s First Nations Advisory Committee, Clean Energy and Climate Change. She runs her consulting business Claypan Services providing services to government, corporates and community. She recently joined the board of Bugardi Pty Ltd an Indigenous contracting company as Managing Director.
